Improving Sustainable Access to Clean Water for Communities Impacted by Climate Change

Achievement at a glance
At the 2023 UN Water Conference The Samburu Project (TSP) pledged to implement 60 new water projects over the next five years, delivering clean water to an additional 60,000 people by 2028. Furthermore, we committed to bringing water to every Samburu person by 2033, permanently eradicating the "walks for water" currently burdening women and children every day. Over the last twelve months, we took steps towards achieving this commitment by completing ten new water points, providing clean water to over 7,500 people. Two of these water points were in extremely arid regions where water access was previously thought to be improbable. Finally, at the conference we urged members of the private and public sector to give grassroots nonprofits like TSP the financial resources they need to accomplish this work. Over the last year we have secured commitments from multiple companies in Nairobi and pursued inroads with contacts in the public sector.Next Steps
