Progress report for
Ensuring open access to harmonise marine data and observation through EMODnet
Achievement at a glance
EMODnet is operating under different contracts, with an annual investment of approximately EUR 7 million aiming to aggregate, standardise and harmonise marine in-situ data on 7 disciplines, counting hundreds of parameters. EMODnet contracts on geology, seabed habitats, physics and biology were renewed and provided flows of new in-situ data and pan-European data products. It also increased the availability of international data, particularly in the Caribbean Sea. The EMODnet portal provides now open data, metadata and data products, in an integrated manner, under creative commons licencing. EMODnet has become one of the pillars of the EU Digital Twin Ocean, enabling the development of applications and scenarios for marine management.Next Steps
