Progress report for
100 Voices for Our Planet

Achievement at a glance
In the Engagement and Performance Metrics section of our first quarter 2024 report, we examined and documented the efforts of five participants, including three organizations led by women and two by men. These participants, spanning regions in Africa and Europe, represented countries such as the U.K., Uganda, and Nigeria. They operated in diverse industries including forestry and advocacy, education and training, recycling, awareness, eco-friendly fashion, and community building, all while incorporating technology tailored to their fields. This cohort's impact and advocacy stem directly from their initiatives. Of these Voices, 30.6% focus on Education and Advocacy, while 69.4% actively pursue Direct Actions. Notably, participants assessed their environmental footprint, such as forestry, carbon emissions, or waste reduction, achieving impressive results: over 6,000 trees planted, 126 people trained in permaculture design, more than 400 kitchen gardens created, 54 schools integrating environmental education and pilot programs, 14 international cleanup projects, and 14 technology partners involved.
Our review and analysis revealed a shared commitment to environmental stewardship among these individuals and organizations. They actively educate communities on resource preservation, challenge conventional beliefs, foster an environmentally responsible mindset, and execute projects to protect the environment. This collective effort contributes to the potential replenishment of aquifers and, through sustained adoption, promises positive changes in environmental practices.
The findings underscore the pivotal role of individuals in environmental conservation, emphasizing the importance of learned and practiced behaviors shared within communities. These actions create a ripple effect, instilling a collective responsibility for environmental well-being.

Challenges faced in implementation
We recognize the need for improvement, particularly in streamlining data analysis. As stated in our inaugural report, we aim to address this gap by collaborating with specialized stakeholders who can contribute their expertise. We have identified these stakeholders and expect to enhance our data analysis starting with the second quarter 2024 report.Additionally, we did not assess 10 Voices for this first quarter due to a lack of qualifying candidates. Our mitigation plan involves engaging stakeholders in various regions to help identify qualified candidates.
Next Steps
Our next steps are as follows:1. Compile a video of the participant’s work into a master video.
2. Engage more stakeholders with expertise in data science.
3. Assess 10 more Voices by the second quarter of 2024
4. Do a follow-up on the 18 Voices to measure their progress and report their progress by end of year.
Beneficiaries
1. Rural communities grappling with a shortage of essential resources. 2. Urban cities aiming for sustainability, cleanliness, safety, resilience, and inclusivity for all residents. 3. Youth, ensuring they learn, practice, engage, and replicate sustainable initiatives. 4. Women and girls, ensuring we address critical issues, emphasizing equality and access to natural water through responsible environmental practices.
Actions
The Voices are making a significant impact on beneficiaries across various sectors, including forestry and advocacy, education and training, recycling, awareness, eco-friendly fashion, and community building. Their actions aim to inspire individuals to adopt eco-conscious lifestyles and be mindful of their surroundings.
