Sheba Tejani

Sheba Tejani is a feminist economist interested in power and inequalities. She is currently a Lecturer in the International Development Department at the University of Birmingham. She was previously Assistant Professor at the Graduate Program in International Affairs at The New School in New York. Her published work focuses on the links between trade, automation and distribution. She is particularly interested in gender inequalities in the labour market, informality and global value chains. Sheba has consulted with various international organizations including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Labor Organization (ILO), UN Women and the World Bank. She has a long and ongoing association with the women's movement in India.
