
Mr. Mansur Muhtar
Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing
Mr. Mansur Muhtar is an Executive Director on the Board of the World Bank Group. He has previously served as Minister of Finance in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (2008 to 2010), as Executive Director of theAfrican Development Bank (2007-2008) and as Director-General of Nigeria’s Debt Management Office (2003-2007). In earlier stages of his career, he had taught in the Economics Department of Bayero University (Kano) and worked as an Economist in the World Bank headquarters for about ten years. Mr. Muhtar holds a Ph.D. in Economics, obtained from the University of Sussex. He is also an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria) and the University of Cambridge, U.K.. He has attended numerous leadership and professional development courses at the Kennedy School (Harvard University), the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), and the Singapore Civil Service Administrative College. Mr. Muhtar is a recipient of the Nigeria National Honours Award, Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) for contribution to national development.
