Mahomed has an engineering background from Singapore University, and an MBA. Mahomed first joined the Mauritian administration in 2003 with a particular focus on investment and infrastructure. Since July 2011, Osman Mahomed has overseen a national initiative that ensures the sustainable development of Mauritius and a bright future for all its citizens. Through the promotion of strategic areas in energy efficiency and independence, Mahomed and the Prime Minister’s Office seeks to transform the social, economic, and environmental landscape of Mauritius as we know it.
