
Mr. Haaziq Kazi
Grade VIII Student, Indus International School Pune (MGCY)
Mr. Haaziq Kazi is a 14-year-old studying in Grade VIII in Indus International School Pune. Mr. Kazi is passionate about the oceans and tackling the plastic problem afflicting oceans and marine life. At the age of 11 he gave a TED talk in New York to talk about his invention Ervis, the ship for cleaning oceans and the plastic waste crisis problem. He has also created a foundation working with the youth of today to bring a generational change in the way they tackle plastic. He has created multiple initiatives in his foundation including education initiative, a digital platform and an incubation lab. Mr. Kazi has also aligned his foundation with UN SDG 12 and 14 and set short term mid term and long term goals. His foundation has currently achieved their first year goals aligned with UN SDGs. In their education initiative they work with schools and children and in one year they have taught over 1500 children in India and UAE on awareness and coming with ideas to fight the plastic pollution. He is Regional Focal Point for the Oceans Youth Constituency.
