Mr. Bambang Widianto
Deputy for Human Development and Equality, Office of the Vice President of Indonesia
Bambang Widianto is currently the Deputy for Human Development and Equality, at the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. In that capacity he is also the Executive Secretary of the National Team for Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), a body in the Government of Indonesia directly chaired by the Vice President responsible for policy reforms and coordination of poverty reduction programs. Bambang Widianto has an Industrial Engineer Degree from Bandung Institute of Technology, MA in Computer Science from Boston University, and obtained his MA and PhD in Economic Policy from North Eastern University, Boston, USA. He is most recently the author of the paper “The Political Economy of Social Protection Reforms in Indonesia”, recently published in the book Social Protection in Developing Countries: Reforming Systems (2013).
