
Mr. Aldo Lale Demoz
Deputy Executive-Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
Aldo Lale Demoz is the Deputy Executive-Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Mr. Aldo Lale-Demoz began his United Nations career in 1985 with the International Maritime Organization as Coordinator in the Technical Cooperation Division. In 1992 he served with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Chief of the Latin America Unit, and in 1994 he was subsequently transferred to the United Nations International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP). Mr. Lale-Demoz has been serving as Senior Programme Manager for Latin America, the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa since 1997. From December 2002 through April 2003, he was Officer-in-Charge of UNODC's Operations Branch. Prior to joining the U.N. he was employed with the Caribbean Council and the American Consortium for International Public Administration, both consulting firms located in Washington, D.C.
