
Laura Rahm

Laura Rahm, Ph.D., is a Marie-Curie Research Fellow at the Democracy Institute of the Central European University. She received her Ph.D. in Political Sociology and Demography from the Sorbonne University, Paris. Laura Rahm is also an Associate Researcher at the Paris-based Center for Population and Development. Moreover, she is affiliated with the School of Transnational Governance at the European University Institute, the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and the Sociology Department of the University of Toronto.
Dr. Laura Rahm specializes in global governance, population, and gender policies with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, sex selection, son preference, and harmful practices. She has over 15 years of work experience in international gender programmes, having worked with NGOs, national governments, international banks, and development partners. She has been a senior consultant for the World Bank and the United Nations. Currently, she serves as an international expert and trainer for the UNFPA-EU Global Programme on Addressing Gender-biased Sex Selection and Related Harmful Practices.
