
H.E. Ms. Lisa Emelia Svensson
Ambassador for Water and the Sea, Sweden
Dr. Svensson holds a Doctoral degree in Business Administration from the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University in Sweden. She is Sweden’s appointed Ambassador for Water and the Sea, advising the minister for the environment on a broad spectrum of marine and ocean-related issues. Her earlier appointments include Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility, Ministry for Foreign Affair. She also served as Swedish Expert of Sustainable development and Trade in the European Commission working in the Director General for Trade. Dr. Svensson has been in the diplomatic service since 2000, posted in New York, Washington, DC, and Brussels. She was a Diplomat-in-Residence at the Johns Hopkins University, (SAIS), Center for Transatlantic Studies, where she carried out research on climate, energy and environmental issues and published the book “Combating Climate Change – A Transatlantic Approach to Common Solutions” in August 2008.
