
H.E. Mr. Vladimir Drobnjak
Permanent Representative of Croatia to the UN (ECOSOC Vice-President in charge of integration segment)
Ambassador Drobnjak, was elected as Vice-President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the plenary meeting held on 30 January 2014 and will perform duties as Vice-President for the integration segment of ECOSOC during 2014-2015. He has served as Permanent Representative since August 2013, and was Head of the Mission of Croatia to the European Union from February 2012 to June 2013. Ambassador Drobnjak began his diplomatic career in 1992, as Deputy Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations in New York. Since then, his assignments have included Assistant Minister and Head of the Division of Multilateral Affairs in Zagreb, Member of the Negotiating Team of Croatia for the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union, and Chief Negotiator for the negotiations on the accession of Croatia to the European Union. He also has worked as a correspondent for Croatian daily newspapers, radio and television, from 1988 to 1992. Ambassador Zagreb holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Zagreb School Of Law.
