Commissioner for Economic Affairs of African Union Commission
Dr. Anthony Mothae Maruping holds a BA, a MA, an MBA and a PhD in Economics. He was Pro-Vice-Chancellor at NUL from 1982 to 1986. He was later Governor at CBL (1988-98). From 1998 to 2005 he was Executive Director, MEFMI, Eastern and Southern Africa. From 2006 to 2012 he was Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Lesotho to UNOG, WTO, etc. and from 2009 to 2012, to the Swiss Confederation. Since 2013, he is Commissioner for Economic Affairs, African Union. Has chaired boards, councils and committees in various national, regional and international organizations.
