President of State Audit Institution United Arab Emirates and Chairman of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI)
Holds a PhD in Financial Economics, a Master of Science in Financial Management and Bachelor degree in Accounting.
Served as an Officer in the Armed Forces of the UAE for more than 25 years. 2006-2007 Seconded to serve at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs H.E Dr. Harib Al Amimi As The President OF State Audit Institution 2007 Selected by the top UAE Federal Government decision makers to be appointed as only the second President of the State Audit Institution in the history of the organization.
The SAI is the Supreme Audit Institution of the UAE Federal Government with a total of more than 70 organizations to audit. Of these, 12 are corporations owned or partially owned by the UAE Federal Government.
Responsible for an ambitious program to modernize the State Audit Institution. It is expected that changes taking place today will have a far reaching impact on the accountability and performance of the Federal Government. The State Audit Institution aims to be among the top audit institutions in the world.
Introduced a more professional culture at the State Audit Institution and assembled a team of international specialists equipped to instill best practice and develop a new workforce of fully qualified Emirati auditors. With these initiatives, the State Audit Institution will demonstrate greater independence and achieve more rapid progress in its drive to match the best audit institutions in the world. It will also earn wider recognition of its role in ensuring the proper management and use of public funds.
- 2012 As the President of SAI, he was honored by the high order of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of United Arab Emirates, may God protect him, to entrusting the supervise on the file of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.(UNCAC)
- 2013 Hosting the next XXII INCOSAI 2016 for The UAE State Audit Institution, and it became the first Middle Eastern host of the INCOSAI Congress in the history of the organization. As A result he became the First Vice-Chairman of INTOSAI.
- 2016 Became the Chairman of INTOSAI and Held the XXII INCOSAI 2016 in the Capital of the UAE Abu Dhabi
- 2019 H.E Dr. Harib Al Amimi will become the chairman of the Conference of the State Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption for a term of two years.
