
H.E. Mr. Augustin Jianu
Minister of Communications and Information Society, Romania
Augustin Jianu was born on May 23, 1986. He graduated the Stefan Odobleja Informatics Highschool of Craiova in 2005, the Automatics and Computer Faculty of the Polytechnics University of Bucharest in 2011, gaining a B. Eng. in automatics and applied informatics.
He holds a certificate for basic Java programming, obtained at the CISCO Academy of the Polytechnics University of Bucharest (2007), a CompTIA Security+ certificate, obtained at the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA — 2015).
In what regards professional experience, he was a project manager at SC Medic Line SRL (April 2006—May 2007), banking software developer at SC Mysis International Financial Systems SRL (May — Sept. 2008), software developer at the Polytechnics University of Bucharest (Nov. 2008—April 2011), consultant at SC Innovacion Y Desarrollo Local SL Madrid, the Bucharest branch (Oct. — Nov. 2012), chairman of the Youth Association for Social Development and Ecology (2009 — 2015).
He was an adviser of the Minister for Information Society (August 2012 — May 2014).
As of May 2014, he is General Director of the Computer Security Incident Response Team — CERT-RO, a public institution specializing in expertise and research & development in the domain of cybernetic infrastructure protection, in the coordination of the Ministry for Information Society.
