Technical Officer on Gender, Health Emergency Preparedness, WHO
Clara Rodríguez Ribas is a Technical Officer on Gender working at the WHO’s Department of Health Emergency Preparedness. She has led the development of the first gender mainstreaming strategy for WHE, and coordinates an internal working group of experts from across WHE including Regional Offices. Prior to this role Clara worked on emergency preparedness and response planning with several UN organizations, including UNFPA, UNICEF and UNDP. She has led the research and writing of UN reports on harmful practices towards women and girls, on disaster risk reduction, and on sexual and reproductive health and rights among others. Clara is deeply committed to advancing human rights, gender equality and women’s health. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and holds a Masters degree from University of Kent. She is originally from Argentina.
