
Alan Hall
Senior Advisor, Global Water Partnership (GWP)
Alan Hall has worked for over 30 years in development activities worldwide. Having qualified as a civil engineer, he specialised in all aspects of water. He has worked in research and consultancy and spent six years with the African Development Bank on water and agriculture projects. Since 1999 he has worked with the Global Water Partnership, initially as Network Coordinator and was responsible for setting up 13 Regional Water Partnerships. He has represented GWP as member of UN-Water for the preparation of the 2012 Status Report on IWRM and recently on the SDG Working Group. He has promoted the issues of Governance and Financing and produced Background papers on “Effective Water Governance” and “Water Financing and Governance”. In 2002, he established a High Level Panel on “Financing Water for All” chaired by Michel Camdessus. He is presently Senior Adviser to the GWP.
