Roundtable discussion for foundations on the UN Conference on Sustainable Development
Conference Room 6, United Nations Headquarters in New York
Background
The Secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Environmental Grantmakers Association, the Ford Foundation and the United Nations Foundation, is organizing a Roundtable discussion for foundations on the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20.
The purpose of the Roundtable is to explore how foundations might wish to support the conference through fundraising and outreach. There are urgent funding needs. Many foundations directly support civil society actors in engaging in international environment and development dialogues. In this context, the Rio+20 Secretariat welcome a dialogue between foundations and the Conference Secretariat on the key issues of the Conference, such as a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication and emerging challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss.
The meeting is by invitation only.
