Moderated by Senator the Hon. Maxine McClean, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (Barbados) and Hon. Maggie Barry, Minister of Conservation (New Zealand). A scientific understanding of the ocean is fundamental to carry out effective management of the human activities that affect the marine environment and the biota that it contains. The Regular Process aims to regularly review the environmental, economic and social aspects of the world’s oceans, both current and foreseeable. Join us for an overview of how the outcome of the first cycle of the Regular Process, and the programme of work for the period 2017–2020 for the second cycle, will support ocean-related intergovernmental processes, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
