This side event at the 55th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, is being organized by the Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO), and the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA).
The event aims to highlight key issues of gender and technology and build support from the women?s community for work at the next negotiating sessions of the UNFCCC, Rio+20 and beyond. This event will draw attention to the roles of women as inventors, managers and distributors of low-emission technologies in the context of promoting sustainable development and effective climate change responses. Panelists will present successful projects on the ground and connect to women?s leadership in a green economy, and highlight UN Women?s goals in the context of Rio+20.
