Tue 14 Jul 2020, 8.00 am — Wed 03 Feb 2021, 8.00 am
Virtual (New York time)
Background
Organiser: UNDP with high-level contributions from Member States and Academia
COVID-19 has condensed the experience of a slow, cumulative sustainability crisis into a sudden health emergency, revealing the full extent of human vulnerability. It has the potential to shift incentives – to lift the financial, institutional and political constraints that have kept the SDGs off-track, and thus to accelerate action for sustainable development. The event will highlight efforts to address the socio-economic impact of COVID-19, with the SDGs as our compass. Top speakers from governments, think tanks and UN will present latest data and showcase examples of digital tools, social protection and green recovery.
