Building the Future WE Want: ECOSOC Ministerial Meeting
UN Headquarters, New York
Background
Following up on Rio+20, the UN is continuing its efforts to promote sustainable development and to prepare a new development agenda that will take us beyond 2015.
In that context, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Department of Public Information (DPI) invite you to participate in an online global forum, “Building the Future WeWant” from 12 to 24 September 2012. The main objective is to mobilize the public-at-large (Youth communities, representatives of the private sector, the civil society, and government representatives) so that they can follow the discussions and ask questions on why, and how the United Nations, in particular, the Economic and Social Council, should deal with sustainability challenges (rising unemployment, food security, biodiversity, climate change, financing and technology transfer).
