Initiative 1: Transforming of the system and reforms for inclusive and quality education:
The Kyrgyz Republic will aim to comprehensively transform a system that promotes inclusive and quality learning for long-term sustainable development by increasing access to early education, expanding inclusive learning pathways, including multilingual education, improving the quality, accessibility, including financial accessibility, of learning facilities and monitoring progress to address all forms of inequalities; while also The Kyrgyz Republic aims to improve the quality of students’ educational attainment, developing basic skills and ensuring the participation of young people, regardless of ethnic, social or other background, in decision-making processes; in addition, the Kyrgyz Republic aims to improve the quality of teaching by improving the preparation and use of digital technologies, their accessibility for all children, as well as increasing transparency and autonomy for adequately funding the education.
Initiative 2: Promotion of an inclusive green economy
The Kyrgyz Republic will aim to achieve sustainable socio-economic growth by transitioning to a new economic model that combines economic reorientation with global efforts to combat climate change and sustainable development, which implies the introduction of an inclusive green economy through various strategies, including expanding financial access for MSMEs in green sectors, promoting climate-smart agriculture, ensuring the active participation of women, returning migrants, PWDs, multiplicity of ethnic groups and other minority groups, promoting digitalization, bridging of the digital divide, faced by those who are left behind, attracting financial resources to achieve the SDGs, increasing resilience in mountain regions, developing climate information, boosting biodiversity conservation, reforming water management, expanding access to renewable energy, all of these aim to harmonize economic development with climate action and inclusion.
The Kyrgyz Republic is committed to make significant progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by significantly reducing poverty (SDG 1) and reducing inequality (SDG 10) based on a comprehensive strategy based on social justice and inclusiveness, aimed at improving the lives of citizens, ensuring access to basic necessities (based on a multidimensional poverty assessment) and promoting shared prosperity, with a commitment to reduce poverty to 20% and reduce the Gini coefficient to 0.221 by 2027, and reduce national poverty to 17% by 2030, carefully monitoring progress, ensuring transparency and involving all segments of society in the creation of an equal, just and inclusive state, using national resources, partnerships and international best practices to achieve these goals and no-one left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development and bright future for the Kyrgyz Republic.
Strengthening national planning and institutional frameworks involves aligning policies, building capacity, mobilizing resources, and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders. It's a multifaceted approach that aims to ensure that the commitment to the SDGs is integrated into the core of a country's development agenda and effectively implemented over time.
