    Intro

    Solferino is a community with a population of 810 people in the municipy of Lazaro Cardenas, state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.

    Smart Use/Uso Inteligente with a multidisciplinaty team and the people of the community in 2004 started the project Chak Luum with sustainable project development plans in 10 hectares of jungle, supporting other 200 hectares of jungle, millenial trees, plants and animal megadiversity, educational tourist information, informatic technology access and support, and programs supporting productivity, fish & fisheries, socio-economy, pollution and governance modules of action.

    Chak Luum, in Maya Chak means red, Luum means land, Red Land (considered Holy Land)

    Chak Luum is located 15 km from the coast of Chiquila wich is 11km from the island of Holbox in the Caribean Sea.

    Monitoring the mangroves, jungle, trees, plants, animals, community growth, turist activities, pollution and community plans, we will support educational information and actions around the connections of the Large Marine Ecosystems with life on the planet.

    Chak Luum project allows the community and people interested to learn from jungle, allows people to visit with out harming the ecosystem.

    Monitoring actions towards ecosystems protection in localty of Solferino, Lazaro Cardenas, Quintana Roo México. Jungle, mangroves around Holbox Island, coral reefs, and its relation with jungle around Yucatan Peninsula. Supporting education, with development and communication of educational literary, drawing and audiovisual content around the relation of the Ocean productivitity with life on the planet and according to the TDA/SAP for the LME assestment and managment. Support education and actions for local and visitors around the 5 module of analisys; productivity, fish and fisheries, socio-economy, pollution and governance. Continue research, analysis, design, evaluation, development and follow up of sustainable actions and projects to contribute to multisectorial collaboration.
