Description
The program aims to support the educational process and system to improve the overall quality of education by investing in infrastructure and human capital through: a)providing schools with tools, equipment, and supplies, b)supporting students by offering scholarships, and c)raising the educational competence of students, teachers, and university graduates. This initiative consists of three programs:- 1."Mostakbaly for Students– Higher Education": provides scholarships to students in Mostorod Area to pursue higher education at some of the country's most prestigious public and private universities, including AASTMT, Ain Shams University, Zewail University , Nile University and AUC. It also provides one post graduate scholarship to any of the prestigious universities abroad. 2.“Mostkably for Students – Don Bosco for Vocational Training”: A vocational training scholarship program for recipients to receive their training in Don Bosco institute - an Italian secondary school that focuses on vocational and technical training in the fields of wood turning, welding, cooling, and air conditioning. It directly addresses the market need for skilled labor. Programs Implementation Methodology: “Mostkably for Students – Higher Education & Don Bosco for Vocational Training” Coordination with the three educational Directorates targeted by the scholarship (Al-Matariya directorate- El-Khosos directorate - East Shubra El-Khima Educational directorate), to announce and promote the scholarship, through: -Posters are distributed to announce the admission's start date . -Creating awareness about the "Mostakbaly" program through the social networking pages of schools and official educational departments' pages. -Holding ceremonies (to honor high school graduates in educational directorates) and seminars to announce the scholarship, its conditions, how to apply and answer any questions that may arise. *ERC follows up with the Higher Education students and shares job and training opportunities. *ERC follows up with the Don Bosco students and offers life and soft skills training. 3."Mostakbaly for Teachers”: Provides local teachers with the AUC's “Teaching Early Learners” (CELE) scholarship, a professional educator and school transformation training program designed specifically for teaching young children in the classroom, at home and within the community. -Teachers are selected via a collaborative process for the scholarships based on their community service record and their ability to share, transfer knowledge and experience to others .It focuses on kindergarten and primary school teachers. Program Implementation Methodology: -Coordination with AUC and the three educational directorates targeted by the scholarship (El Matariya directorate– El Khosos directorate- East Shubra El-Khaima directorate), to announce and promote the scholarship among teachers in targeted schools -Several interviews are conducted with the nominated teachers *ERC follows up with them through meetings and its community and development team conducts evaluation reports. Governance: a)ERC formulated its governance system on the principles of transparency and integrity to reflect its commitment to integrating sustainability pillars into its business model. The objective is to create a long-term shared value for all stakeholders. b) ERC ensures transparency and objectivity of the Mostakbaly program through: -Providing equal opportunities without any discrimination -Gender equality -Disclosure of information to all stakeholders through holding several orientation sessions and coordinating with stakeholders -Clear criteria -Clear and organized applying system
SDG 4 – Quality of Education: - Address educational inequalities and improve the quality of education for students and teachers offered by public schools in its surrounding community. SDG 5 – Gender Equality: - Gender balance and female economic empowerment are cornerstones of Qalaa and its subsidiaries’ human capital development programs. Qalaa and its subsidiaries believes in fostering a highly inclusive work environment that promotes women’s influence and impact. Around 50% of Mostakbaly’s beneficiaries are female. SDG 10 – Reducing in Equalities: - The ultimate goal of all ERC’s initiatives and projects, particularly “Mostakbaly” program is to help reduce economic and social inequalities by building capacities and providing fair access to high quality education and training and preparation for the job market. Investing in human capital development is achieved in Mostakbaly program through the scholarships provided to teachers and students, in addition to the training programs provided to the teachers and the vocational training scholarships provided via “Don Bosco” scholarship. SDG 17- Partnership for Goals: - ERC has collaborated and partnered with diverse like-minded entities and organizations including governmental entities, local educational entities, and academic institutions to add more value to the communities.
