Global Goals for Pakistan
Description
We have divided the program into two parts, applied simultaneously, we believe that it provides an ideal project to engage, mobilize and empower Pakistan's youth.<br />

The first part of the project includes holding what we call "SDG town-halls" the first of which is tentatively scheduled to be held at NUST in January 2017 focusing on the Goal 5: Gender Equality of the SDG. Formatted around a panel discussion, each town-hall will focus on a specific goal. The format allows university and college students to engage with a panel of experts, learning about the challenges in achieving the specific goal, all the while providing them with a platform to feed their intellectual curiosity. This is essential as it will engage and inform the youth of the goal at hand.<br />

The second part of the project is providing young Pakistanis with the tailored opportunities to work on the frontline of the implementation of the SDGs. To this end, we're building strategic partnerships with development organisations working on implementation of specific goals. We have entered into preliminary partnership negotiations with several development organisations, most of whom are eager to contribute towards the project. In essence this will allow Pakistani youth to build critical leadership skills, and gain grassroots level knowledge of the goal at hand.<br />

The end result, we hope will be a national youth-led movement for the implementation of the Global Goals in Pakistan, a more engaged, informed and empowered youth, and a nation in a better position to meet the SDGs than it was to meet the MDGs.<br />
<br />
Through working with established development organisations and experts, we expect to leverage their expertise to build our capacity to carry out the project.
The initiative is governed by the Center for Youth Activism of Pakistan (CYAP), a non-profit organisation based out of Islamabad. Like CYAP itself, the project is youth-led and works with diverse array of partners.
