“Evasão Zero!” (which translates to Zero Evasion! in English) is linked to Goal 1 and Goal 4
Description
“Zero Evasion!” is an open source and open data platform whose primary objective is to identify how social vulnerability risk indexes of families with school aged children and adolescents impact on the increase in school attendance, dropout and dropout rates in public schools.

As UNICEF Education says, "Education is the key to achieving the first and most important of the UN's 17 sustainable development goals: overcoming extreme poverty." But we are gradually identifying that aspects of vulnerability such as the family situation of extreme poverty, may be precisely what prevents students from attending school.
Its mainly objective is to diagnose the causes of the school infrequency rate increase, from the situation of social vulnerability in which the families of children enrolled in public education meet, and to create a municipal evasion rate.

The idea is that these informations can influence the government in the use of data and intersectoriality strategies for the public good, working in the reduction of educational and social inequalities, so that we can reduce infrequency and dropout rates.

As an example, if a city has increased the school dropout rate by 2% in a year, crossing social welfare system data, we can show that this increase may have been influenced by some socio-welfare factors, such as the increase in the number of families in situations of extreme poverty, the greater number of families with some child labor situation and several other types of violence or rights violation factors, assisted by the Social Welfare System, which exercises a policy of articulation of rights and social protection.

For the Government, this means that we could give details to social welfare government agencies to act, articulating the follow-up of these families, a process that is already part of the welfare policy, and carry out any type of intervention aimed at overcoming these issues, which may have impacted the school evasion indexes. Until we can gradually develop some method of predictability based on the standards validated by the government agencies themselves, since we can measure the outcome of these actions.

For society, this means empowering from open and auditable data, more actively soliciting government initiatives, and tracking results. Not only making this a school community matter, but a society matter.

The municipal education secretaries will be able to follow with more precision and agility the schools infrequency data, working in an intersectorial way with other government agencies, to approach the families of students who are in this situation, and to act in a preventive way, controlling the student's school attendance so that responsible agencies can approach families before the low rate reaches 30%, which is the law limit to schools to approach their students in Brazil.

Municipal social welfare secretaries can work in a more integrated way with municipal education agencies, ensuring the monitoring of families in situations of social vulnerability whose children are enrolled in public education networks, helping to ensure two of the most important pillars of education, access to school and school attendance.

Students and families, will be follow-upped more actively and faster, preventing children from leaving school, and who will be able to enjoy the learning process, so that they can positively impact the community with the knowledge learned in the classroom, and consequently contributing at home so that their families leave the socially vulnerable position, and even poverty.
We’ll partner up with a few model networks, who’re already our clients in our open source school management software, and our social welfare system management software, so we can conduct pilots in these cities, where they we’ll be able to provide them real time data, so they can try to validate if the data we’re providing is enough so they can start to work on solutions to solve this situation.
We are at the stage of deciding how this platform will be presented to the public, and analyzing how best to cross first the open federal government databases to prove that socio-social aspects impact on learning. And create awareness and interest of the general public for that matter.
From there, we will work specifically on how to make this platform cross the data of our two products (our open source school management software, and our social welfare system management software), so that we can generate insights from these data, to solve the problem of school dropout.
And even after this second stage, continue to present the school dropout rates for the public, as well as explains this post, which talks a little about the development and the first stage of construction of this platform.

- Parents and guardians of students appropriate data and demand actions from local government
- Public secretaries begin to understand the importance of using intersectoral data to combat the causes of school dropout
Results that we expect in the medium term
- Parents and guardians recognize the municipal evasion index as a citizen tool to combat school dropout
- Public managers use the municipal evasion index data to plan intersectoral interventions through education and social assistance
Expected impact from our theory of change
- Increased classroom time and reduced school dropout
- Citizen empowerment to advocate for your rights with open data
