Background
The Pacific Small Island Developing States (PSIDS) are on the frontlines of the global climate crisis, confronting its existential threats while simultaneously demonstrating remarkable leadership in advancing sustainable, inclusive, and innovative solutions. Despite their geographic isolation, small size, and limited resource base, Pacific SIDS continue to serve as beacons of resilience and innovation, transforming global discourse on sustainability, climate action, and energy transition.
The Pacific SIDS Regional Symposium, “Transitioning Towards 100% Renewable Energy and the Energy Statistics Training Workshop will bring together Pacific governments, regional institutions, development partners, international organizations, and private sector innovators to accelerate the region’s renewable energy transition. Through scalable pilot initiatives and SIDS–SIDS peer learning, the Symposium will strengthen capacity and catalyze investment in renewable energy systems, The Energy Statistics Training Workshop will complement the Symposium by strengthening national capacity to produce and disseminate high-quality energy statistics to monitor progress.
