Background
The High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy (Ocean Panel), composed of 14 serving world leaders, is putting forward a new ocean action agenda for building a sustainable ocean economy where protection, production and prosperity go hand in hand.
On 2 Dec, the Ocean Panel will share its ‘Transformations’ comprised of a headline commitment and a set of bold, yet pragmatic, priority actions to transform how the world can protect and use the ocean and ultimately sustainably manage humanity’s impacts on it. The ‘Transformations’ are reinforced by a new comprehensive report to be published on the same day. The Ocean Panel will also spotlight the action underway to support the agenda and accelerate, scale and finance ocean action. All of this will be featured in a new Twitter campaign. On 3 Dec, Ocean Panel countries are following the sun with events from Fiji to Mexico to share what the new ocean action agenda means for their countries, their people and the planet.
